Originally aired Sunday, Jan 6, 2013 Before we share the results of our return to the windswept Norfolk coast last September, we’re revisiting our original Series 20 investigation of Branodunum Roman Fort and we’re releasing it early here on Patreon ad-free just for you.

When we first dug at Brancaster, we uncovered tantalising glimpses of this imposing shore fort, but many questions remained. Last autumn, we returned not with trowels, but with geophysics, carrying out detailed survey work across the site to see what still lies hidden beneath the surface. The results were fascinating. New anomalies, unexpected features, and fresh possibilities have given us a clearer sense of the fort’s layout and perhaps its later story too.

We’ll be sharing those findings in a dedicated episode very soon!
