Another Dig Begins! - Shetland 2025

Less than a week after packing away our trowels following the end of our 2025 dig at Sutton Hoo, we're already back in the field to investigate what could be a Viking-era boat burial up in the Scottish Isles.

After more than two years of work on this project, we're thrilled to announce that Dr. John Gater, Matt Williams, and Jackie McKinley have teamed up with the Orkney Research Centre for Archaeology, Dr. Colleen Batey and Val Turner for this excavation. This is shaping up to be a truly special and potentially very rare site!
