Ian was a silent but integral member of the team, whose expertise, patience and precision was critical to the success of many Time Team digs over the years. His grace and accuracy in an excavator was truly astonishing. Ian was famed for his party tricks including peeling a banana and even placing a coin in somebody’s back pocket, all from the cab of his digger! Sadly no longer with us, Ian is missed by all, but remembered fondly.
