Sam Newton

You always know it’s going to be a good episode of Time Team when Dr Sam Newton makes an appearance! Sam is an absolute authority on the Anglo-Saxons and enjoys nothing more than regaling us with Old English verse, while playing his authentic reconstruction Saxon lyre. A keen motorbiker, Sam enjoys travelling the countryside on two wheels. His books include The Origins of Beowulf and the pre-Viking Kingdom of East Anglia and The Reckoning of King Raedwald. Sam is co-founder of Wuffings Education and regularly gives lectures and workshops on a range of subjects related to early English history.
